BOYS LACROSSE AT HORACE GREELEY DEBUTED IN 1975 UNDER THE DIRECTION OF STAN SOTHERDEN. STAN REMAINED AT THE HELM FOR 12 YEARS, UNTIL 1987, HAVING LED THE QUAKERS TO AN INAUGURAL 8-2-1 RECORD, AND SECOND PLACE LEAGUE HONORS IN 1978. AFTER A ONE YEAR STINT FOR HUTTON AS COACH, THE LONG TIME HEAD OF GREELEY'S FOOTBALL PROGRAM, BILL TRIBOU, STEPPED IN AND LED THE SITCKMEN TO THEIR FIRST LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AND A SECTION SEMI-FINALS APPEARANCE WITH A 11-4 RECORD IN 1989. BILL UCCI THEN LED THE QUAKERS FROM 1990 - 1996, NOTCHING A SECTION SEMI-FINALIST APPEARANCE TO THE QUAKER'S HISTORICAL BELT IN 1990, A LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1991, AND 3 SUCCESSIVE SECTION FINAL APPEARANCES IN 1992, 1993, AND 1994. WHILE THE COACH OF GREELEY, BILL UCCI, WHO ALSO COACHED AT MAMARONECK AND LATER AT HARRISON, BECAME A 200 GAME WINNER. NEXT IN THE COACHING SUCCESSION WAS SILICOTT WHO LED THE QUAKERS FOR ONLY A YEAR. KEVIN KUCZMA, SON OF LONG TIME ATHLETIC DIRECTOR PETE KUCZMA, THEN STARTED HIS SUCCESSFUL 10 YEAR RUN IN 1998 LEADING THE QUAKERS TO 3 SECTION FINAL APPREARANCES IN 2002, 2003 AND 2006. THE MUCH HONORED AND ACCOMPLISHED PLAYER/COACH ROY COLSEY LED THE QUAKERS IN 2008, AND VINCENT DEGREGORIO WAS NAMED HEAD COACH IN 2009.

We are actively working to develop as complete a history as
possible of the Horace Greeley Lacrosse program, and create
a place for the programs alumni to connect, keep in touch with
each other, and keep in touch with the program's ongoing success.
As an Alum of the program, be it player, coach, parent, or
supporter you can help. Become a registered member and
send us your pictures, recollections, and any other information
you have that could help in developing a more complete record
of the programs history for all to see.
And, as a registered member of the site, you will automatically
receive email notices of important alumni events, like the
ANNUAL ALUMNI GAME, and other communications created
for and sent to Horace Greeley Lacrosse Alumni.
